21 March 2012

Hi all,

Thanks to all who donated at the shave on Friday and throughout the weeks leading up to the shave, especially Mike and Jan who matched the funds raised on the day.

A grand total of $892.00 went to the Leukaemia Foundation so regardless of my new look, I think we did well.

Thanks to Opso’s suggestion of a challenge, this is what you contributed to:

craig shaves for leukemia foundation

Great work by Craig Beardsmore, who on Friday 16/3/12 he was sheared by his lovely wife on the premises of Becker Helicopters, in his quest to raise much needed funds for the Leukemia Foundation.

And so it began ... or that was the plan. Halfway through his shave a challenge by his co-workers rallied another $185 for Craig to keep his half shaven hair for a period of one week. Craig would accept the challenge. What a great sport! His BIG SHAVE will continue next week.

dave passes his flight test

Congratulations to Dave Hardstaff on being our first CPLH graduate for 2012! Well done in flying in not so great conditions last Wednesday. Great work!

No persons or animals were harmed during this project.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to you and all your team for the great job that you did in making our special occasion so special.

Geoff was a wonderful pilot, so no need to worry that sand writing is not his forte. I am pleased to hear that no persons, including the dog were harmed for my sake :)

Great work to the A Team - Captain Geoff Shaw, Maraina Waaka, Merlijn Van Wayenberghe, Rene Thierry, James Spicer, Andrew Rothery, Pedro Belo, Julio Maia and Fredelino Ole.

Introducing Flight Instructor, Craig Beardsmore ...

For the third year running, I am taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave – with a bit of a twist. I am shaving my head but, if I raise enough money I will also shave one arm. Raise a little more, and I will shave both.

Last year I raised enough to shave my head and one arm and yes, people thought I looked like a freak but I felt strangely liberated and members of the animal kingdom stopped following me and trying to groom me.

My daughter laughed at me and my dog would not stop trying to lick me but I achieved my goal.

So if you want to take part in making me look like a misguided body builder please sponsor.

Sorry, I will not be shaving my legs. I have no hair on my back either. No other parts of the anatomy will be mentioned.

Here's my photo’s for your amusement ...

Please sponsor me. Your donation will fund vital blood cancer research and free support for people with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

To sponsor me online now, just click on the link to the fundraising page Craig Beardsmore

Thanks for your support!

Craig
